A live public arts intervention that opens dialogue
about the urban environment, posing the question,
‘How do we experience our city?’
City Running is
a live arts event exploring the urban environment in an engaging and spontaneous way;
a means of production, dissemination of ideas, and the exhibition of new work;
a space for artists to challenge their creative process, open dialogue with artists from other disciplines, and foster collaborative work;
a place for artist and audience to meet and demystify the creative process.
City Running was an enormously successful project this year in the Brighton Festival, winning the Innovation Award, and building a huge following during the Running period
The concept has proved really interesting both as a way of experiencing a city, and attracting unconventional audiences, and in providing a unique experience for the artists taking part to make work spontaneously, and then take part in an instant critique.
